Sunday Times cutbacks ‘damaging’ to Scotland’s national interest
News International’s decision effectively to shut down the Scottish edition of The Sunday Times will be damaging to Scotland’s national interest, according to the SNP’s business spokesman at Westminster.
Staff at the paper’s Glasgow and Edinburgh offices were told last week that The Sunday Times Scotland would retain three reporters out of a total of 15-20 editorial staff, one each in news, politics and sport. A 30-day redundancy consultation is under way.
