Arla Foods amba, which operates a dairy processing plant at Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, has confirmed that its on-account price will reduce by one eurocent per kilogramme (0.8 pence when applied to the UK standard litre), with effect from August 3.
That takes the standard litre price to 23.01p per litre (ppl).
The milk price, for the small number of Arla farmers on a direct supply contract, will reduce by 0.85ppl, from September 1 this year.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 2064 prime lambs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £77 per head and 175p per kg to average 138p (-10.2p on the week).
The firm also had 693 cast sheep forward when ewes sold to £132 for Texels and £60 for Blackfaces.
John Swan Ltd sold 53 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 237p per kg and an average of 217.9p (-4p), while 38 prime bullocks peaked at 239p and levelled at 214.9p (-5.8p). Four prime bulls sold to 208p and averaged 194p.
In the rough ring 47 beef-type cows averaged 122p (-9.6p).
The firm also sold 2102 prime lambs to a top of £85 and 174p to average 145p (-4p).
The 521 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £102 for Texels and average £63, while light ewes peaked at £68 for Cheviots and levelled at £48.91.
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 20 prime heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 240.5p and an average of 198.7p (-11.6p), while 26 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 227.5p and levelled at 206p (-0.7p). Two prime, dairy-bred bullocks averaged 139.5p.
Seventy-two prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 209.5p and averaged 171.4p (-13.4p), while 63 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 163p and levelled at 137p (-3p).
In the rough ring 89 beef cows averaged 127.6p (-5.6p) and 241 dairy cows levelled at 93.4p (-0.3p). Eleven bulls averaged 120.2p (+4.3p).
The firm also sold 2137 prime lambs to a top of £88.80 and 214.5p to average 146.9p (-5.2p).
The 217 cast sheep forward sold to £91 for Texels.
Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 18 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 251p and an average of 227p (-3.1p).
In the rough ring 32 beef cows averaged 128p (-0.2p) and 60 dairy cows levelled at 90.1p (-4.1p).
The firm also sold 1658 prime lambs to a top of £85 and 193.2p to average 145.6p (-7.7p).
The 685 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £121.50 for Texels and £68.50 for Blackfaces.
