C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 47 store heifers in Dumfries on Monday to a top of 269.1p per kg and an average of 207.2p (-0.2p on the fortnight), while 54 store, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 267.4p and levelled at 212.2p (-7.1p). Sixteen store, B&W bullocks sold to 146.3p and averaged 138.9p (+15.1p), while 11 store bulls peaked at 202p and levelled at 172p.

The firm also had 35 beef-breeding cattle forward when heifers with calf-at-foot sold to £2080 and averaged £1751.67.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 9 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of 229p per kg and an average of 217p.

In the rough ring 38 beef cows averaged 123.8p and 82 dairy cows levelled at 90.6p. Five bulls averaged 129.2p and 15 OTM bullocks levelled at 153.8p.

There was also a small show of 4 dairy cattle that sold to £1450 twice for Holstein Friesian heifers, with the final average levelling at £1350.

Wallets Marts sold 549 prime lambs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £87 per head and 212p per kg to average 179.5p (-20.1p on the week).
