C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 39 store heifers in Dumfries yesterday to a top of 280p per kg and an average of 194p (+9p on the fortnight), while 50 store beef-bred bullocks peaked at 237.9p and levelled at 201.4p (+7.8p). Thirty-six store, B&W bullocks sold to 156.6p and averaged 120.8p (-9.4p), while 5 store bulls peaked at 196.1p and levelled at 174.6p (no comparison).

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1657 prime lambs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £93 per head and 197.9p per kg to average 169.8p (-1.9p on the week).

There were also 559 cast sheep forward that met similar rates to last week with ewes selling to £96 for Texels and £52.50 for Blackfaces.

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 50 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 245p and an average of 217.3p (+1.9p), while 23 prime bullocks peaked at 243p and levelled at 214.8p (-4.2p). Five prime bulls sold to 192p and averaged 169.5p.

In the rough ring 82 beef cows sold to 189p and averaged 118.4p (no change on the week).

There were also 2613 prime lambs that sold to £100 and 216.4p to average £80 and 180.7p (+3.7p).

The 706 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £81 for Berrichon and average £67, while light ewes peaked at £77 for Cheviots and levelled at £37.

Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 24 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 248p and an average of 234.1p (+4.1p), while 7 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 227p and levelled at 220.5p (+5.2p). Eleven prime, B&W bullocks sold to 137.5p and averaged 132.1p (+0.9p).

In the rough ring 77 beef cows averaged 112p (+1.2p) and 48 dairy cows levelled at 80.5p (+0.8p).

There were also 2056 prime lambs that sold to £95 and 221.8p to average 171.9p (-4.3p).

The 421 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £121.50 for a Texel and average £59.82, while light ewes peaked at £55.50 for Blackfaces and levelled at £32.96.
