Twenty store, B&W bullocks sold to 163p and averaged 144.3p (no comparison), while 19 store bulls peaked at 260p and averaged 221.3p (+14.6p).

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 2010 prime hoggs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £95 per head and 219.5p per kg to average 164.1p (no change on the week).

The 720 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £123.50 average £68.14, while light ewes peaked at £68 and levelled at £46.57.

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 48 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 244p and an average of 213p (-4.6p), while 20 prime bullocks peaked at 238p and levelled at 214p (+6.8p). A couple of prime bulls sold to 168p and averaged 161p (no comparison).

In the rough ring 39 beef cows sold to 157p and averaged 125p (-5p).

There were also 1859 prime hoggs that sold to £89 and 225.3p to average 170p (+4.5p).

The 439 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £111 and average £74, while light ewes peaked at £63 and levelled at £44.

The firm also sold 17 prime heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 217.5p and an average of 190.7p (-3.5p), while 35 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 224.5p and levelled at 202.4p (-12.4p). Six prime, dairy-bred bullocks sold to 169.5p and averaged 161.7p (no comparison). Thirty prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 232.5p and averaged 188.1p (-4.4p), while 58 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 176.5p and levelled at 141.5p (-20.6p).

In the rough ring 98 beef cows sold to 207.5p and averaged 133.6p (-2p), while 222 dairy cows peaked at 171.5p and levelled at 107.3p (+5.9p).

There were also 1818 prime hoggs forward that sold to £112 and 283.7p to average 169p (+8.1p).

A small show of 110 cast sheep saw heavy ewes sell to £100 average £63.97, while light ewes peaked at £61.50 and levelled at £38.98.

Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 14 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 244p and an average of 227p (-3.1p), while 9 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 225p and levelled at 207.2p (-0.6p). Six prime, B&W bullocks sold to 141.5p and averaged 137.3p (+2p).

In the rough ring 30 beef cows averaged 123p (-1p), while 50 dairy cows levelled at 100p (-1p).

The firm also sold 2954 prime hoggs to a top of £100 and 241.3p to average 165.2p (-0.4p).
