John Swan sold 41 prime bullocks in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 243p per kg and an average of 215.1p (+3.1p on the week), while 49 prime heifers peaked at 242p and levelled at 219.3p (no change).
In the rough ring, 65 beef-type OTM cattle averaged 146.2p (+4.3p). The firm also sold 2048 prime hoggs to average 162.5p (+11.4p).
The 977 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes average £62.85 while light ewes levelled at £37.78.
Craig Wilson sold 1625 prime hoggs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £86 and 200p to average 152.3p (+6.4p).
The 544 cast sheep forward met a similar trade to last week with ewes selling to £107 for a pen of Texels and £54 for Blackfaces.
The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart sold 125 store bullocks in Dumfries yesterday to a top of 252p and an average of 206.8p, while 38 store heifers peaked at 222p and levelled at 186p.
Twenty-six young bulls sold to 233.8p and averaged 213.7p.
