Bullocks sell to 243p per kg at St Boswells

John Swan sold 41 prime bullocks in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 243p per kg and an average of 215.1p (+3.1p on the week), while 49 prime heifers peaked at 242p and levelled at 219.3p (no change).

In the rough ring, 65 beef-type OTM cattle averaged 146.2p (+4.3p). The firm also sold 2048 prime hoggs to average 162.5p (+11.4p).

The 977 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes average £62.85 while light ewes levelled at £37.78.
