Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 336 store heifers in Lockerbie yesterday to a top of 297.2p per kg and an average of 225.4p, while 265 store bullocks peaked at 294.1p and levelled at 229.8p.
Eight store bulls sold to 228.5p and averaged 193.8p.
Messrs Craig Wilson sold 9 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of £1263.50 per head and 226p per kg to average £1168.24 and 217.2p, while a couple of prime bullocks peaked at £1265.60 and 226p to level at £1242.70 and 219.9p.
In the rough ring 39 beef cows averaged 140.3p and 67 dairy cows levelled at 110.7p. Nine bulls averaged 120p and 14 clean OTM cattle levelled at 136.2p.
There were only a couple of dairy cattle forward that averaged £1535.
Wallets Marts sold 444 prime hoggs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £99 per head and 204.6p per kg to average 175.1p (-15p on the week), while 6 prime lambs weighing 47kg apiece fetched £102.
The 115 cast sheep forward sold to £135 for Texel rams, while ewes peaked at £128 for Texels, £96 for Mules and £68 for Blackfaces.
