Market round-up

Wallets Marts sold 1743 prime lambs in Castle Douglas on Tuesday to a top of £105 per head and 228.9p per kg to average 201.8p.

A larger show of 489 cast sheep saw ewes sell to £118 for Texels, with the overall average levelling at £62.43.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 22 prime heifers at Ayr on Tuesday to average 195.9p, while 15 prime bullocks levelled at 195.8p. Three young bulls averaged 197.2p.
