The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart sold 5,997 prime lambs in Longtown on Thursday to a top of £117 per head and 265p per kg to average 182.2p.
The firm also had 4,595 cast sheep forward when heavy ewes sold to £138 for Texels and averaged £77.94 (+£2.95), while light ewes peaked at £78 for Blackfaces and Cheviots to level at £49.82 (+£4.73). Rams sold to £128 for a Texel and averaged £70.02 (-£15.58).
