Record sale for Texel gimmer at Stirling mart

UNITED Auctions sold a Texel gimmer for a centre record of 8500 guineas at Stirling on Monday on behalf of the Reid family's Kelso and Meadowvale flocks.

Top call was for a Kelso Pedro daughter out of a Newhill Major mother going to Staplegrove Livestock, Foxhill Farm, Blackborough, Devon.

A centre record for a Texel ewe was also achieved with a 4500gns bid for a two-crop Kelso Ozone daughter out of a Newhill Major ewe – this one selling to Boden and Davies, Mellor Hall Farms, Stockport.
