It is not often that companies in Scotland have the opportunity to engage in a forum led by an acknowledged industry expert who has also been a special adviser to no fewer than three American presidents.

At the "Low-Carbon Masterclass" on February 26, however, delegates will be in the company of Dan Reicher, the executive director of Stanford University's Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance, who has more than 25 years of experience in energy and environmental policy, finance and technology.

Organised in partnership with The Herald, the masterclass at the Radisson Blu Glasgow hotel will offer organisations the perfect opportunity to develop a better understanding of the key issues in the low-carbon economy.

Mr Reicher's pedigree is impeccable. Not only has he worked with Google as director of climate change and energy initiatives, but he has also worked as a member of the Commission on the Accident at Three Mile Island under President Carter, as assistant secretary of energy for energy efficiency and renewable energy under President Clinton and, most recently, as co-chair of the Energy and Environment Team under President Obama. He is also the co-founder of New Energy Capital Corporation, a private equity firm that specialises in clean energy investments.

During his masterclass, Mr Reicher will explore taking technologies to market in the low-carbon and renewables sector and examine the challenges of securing investment in emerging markets.

As well as benefitting from this knowledge sharing - and the following question-and-answer session - delegates will also have the opportunity to engage in invaluable networking with Scottish Enterprise's sustainability team and panel members.

The Herald in partnership with Scottish Enterprise is hosting a low carbon masterclass in Glasgow later this month, with Dan Reicher as guest speaker.

The event's focus will centre on taking technologies to market in low carbon and renewable sectors as well as looking at the challenges of financing and expanding business in emerging markets.

The masterclass is on Wednesday February 26, at the Radisson Hotel, Argyle Street, Glasgow.
