However, while this was the fourth consecutive positive reading of business confidence north of the Border, the score remains lower than the UK average.
Businesses in Scotland gave a confidence score of 5.5% for quarter one of 2013, up from 1.7% in the final quarter of 2012, the Business Confidence Monitor from the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales) and Grant Thornton shows.
