Scottish construction workloads rose in the final quarter of 2014 but the sector is still dogged by skills shortages, according to the latest survey by the RICS.

A net balance of 37 per cent of respondents reported workload growth but

49 per cent said skill shortages were holding them back.

Despite the UK election creating industry uncertainty, confidence remains firm with a net balance of 68per cent expecting workloads to increase and 50per cent more expecting rises in employment.
