Interest rates kept at low

THE Bank of England has kept interest rates at a record low of 0.5%, marking five years since the central bank last changed the cost of borrowing.

The monetary policy committee decided not to change the rate in spite of growing evidence suggesting that the UK economy has started the year solidly.
