Private-sector recovery slows

The economic recovery in the Scottish private sector slowed ­during June and remained weaker than that seen across the UK as a whole, according to the latest Bank of Scotland purchasing managers’ index (PMI) survey.

The headline Bank of Scotland PMI -- a seasonally adjusted index monitoring activity across Scotland’s manufacturing and service sectors -- fell from 53.1 to 52.9.
