Regional transport groups may be scrapped

Scotland’s regional transport partnerships could be wound up following the restructuring of Transport Scotland, according to expert observers.

The seven bodies, including Sestran in south-east Scotland and SPT in Strathclyde, which help to develop joined-up transport policies for their respective regions, are seen as a likely next step in the Scottish Government’s rationalisation of the sector.
