Rise in Scottish big builds

SCOTLAND accounts for a higher proportion of large-scale building projects, according to a law firm.

Figures obtained by McGrigors under freedom of information show 523 tower cranes were installed across the UK in the second half of 2011, down on 575 in the first half.

Activity in London dwindled from 371 to 300. However, in Scotland the figure increased from 21 to 28 in the second six months of the year.
