And the farm-gate value of Scottish farmed salmon rose by 5.6% in real terms to £584.7 million in 2011.
Production of Scottish farmed salmon has now risen for three consecutive years. Having fallen from 129,930 tonnes in 2007 to 128,606 tonnes in 2008, it leapt to 144,247 tonnes in 2009, 154,164 tonnes in 2010, and 158,018 tonnes in 2011.
