Santander eyes £15bn flotation on stockmarket

Santander is examining plans to list its UK banking business on the stock market with a target value of more than £15bn, according to a report yesterday.

The Spanish giant, which launched a single Santander brand for all its banking operations last month, is said to be examining a flotation among several capital-raising options as it mulls a bid for the 300 English bank branches being put up for sale by Royal Bank of Scotland.
