Scots services sector struggles as sales tumble

THE key services sector is in far worse shape in Scotland than in any other part of the UK, the latest quarterly economic survey from the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) reveals.

This survey highlights the economic challenges north of the Border as the Holyrood election looms.

It points to tumbling sales and orders for Scottish services companies from UK customers in the first quarter of the year. This is in stark contrast to an increase in domestic sales and orders for the UK services sector as a whole.
