Scottish engineering firms enjoy strongest expansion in 12 years
The Scottish engineering sector enjoyed extremely strong expansion in the latest three months, with trends in orders, output and optimism at their most positive in 12 years, a key industry survey reveals today.
The upbeat quarterly survey from Scottish Engineering is particularly welcome amid the recent slew of financial sector job losses and ahead of swingeing public sector spending cuts which are expected to hit the economy and labour market north of the Border hard.
