THERE were 37 mergers and acquisitions between UK firms in the second quarter of the year with an average value of £32 million, compared to 39 in the previous quarter, according to the Office for National Statistics.
The number of UK firms taking over foreign companies fell from 34 to 17, with the average value at £125m.
