The Budget Will green cash blow into Scots ports?

Red and battered it might be on the outside, but Alistair Darling’s Budget briefcase looked decidedly green when he opened it last week.

To cheers from the renewables industry, the Chancellor announced plans for a Green Investment Bank (GIB), which will use the proceeds from sell-offs such as the Channel Tunnel rail link and the Student Loan Company to invest £2 billion in renewable energy businesses.
