The acceleration in year-on-year growth from 4% in June to 4.9% followed a 0.3% month-on-month rise in manufacturing output in July. This was the third consecutive monthly advance of 0.3%.

UK manufacturing buoyant but sector outlook tougher
UK manufacturing output in July was up 4.9% on the same month of 2009, the strongest year-on-year growth since December 1994, official data showed yesterday.
