STUDENTS and academics can compete for prizes worth more than £150,000 in total in the latest Converge Challenge awards programme to encourage entrepreneurship in Scotland’s universities. Winners will receive a cash prize and a business support package to help them develop their ideas. Awards are on offer for people with established ideas, those at an earlier stage in the development process and for social enterprise projects that could impact social and environmental issues. Some 240 emerging entrepreneurs have won awards to date. Programme director Olga Kozlova encouraged more women to apply in 2017.
