PROFESSOR David Hillier, executive dean at Strathclyde Business School, has been named public sector director of the year. The academic, associate principal at the University of Strathclyde, was one of 15 leading executives at IoD Scotland’s Director of the Year Awards in Glasgow.

Other winners included Douglas Whyte, chief executive of the Aberdeen-based Hydro Group, who was named director of the year in the large businesses category. Jennifer MacKenzie-Hallwood, of TEFL Org UK, triumphed in the medium size businesses category, while Tom Campbell of North Highland Initiative won the award for small businesses.
