Party time as Loganair flies high at 50

'Scotland's airline" Loganair is launching a year-long celebration of its 50th birthday with a special dinner on Wednesday.

Chairman Scott Grier, pictured, who headed up a management buyout of the airline in 1997, said: "No other airline has operated for nearly as long under its original name. During our lifetime, at least 50 Scottish-based airlines and aviation companies have come and gone, but we're still here and thriving.
