Reading between global lines

At first sight, Scotland's Global Connections survey into exports in 2010, released last week, shows a commendable improvement in the current climate.

Exports to the EU between 2009 and 2010 grew marginally by £25 million, although this figure predates the worst of the Eurozone crisis. Exports to North America increased by an impressive £405m over the period, not bad given that the US was hardly booming.
