Baker brings in food and drink director

ACCOUNTANCY firm Baker Tilly has appointed food and drink specialist Stuart McCallum as a director in its Scottish practice.

Mr McCallum, a chartered accountant, has joined from Clydesdale Bank, where he was director of corporate and acquisition finance for the west of Scotland and head of food and drink for Scotland.

Before that he held a number of corporate finance posts at organisations such as Royal Bank of Scotland, Craig Corporate and Baker Tilly.

In his new role, Mr McCallum will provide clients with accounting and business support, including advising on merger and acquisitions, securing funding and day to day financial needs.

He will also contribute to Baker Tilly’s corporate finance services, covering advisory and due diligence for companies, banks and equity houses.

Maryhill makes key signings

MARYHILL Housing Association has announced two senior hires, with Bryony Willett joining as director of housing services and Kim Grant as corporate support manager.

Ms Willett arrives from Islington Council, where she was head of housing partnerships and before that housing business plan manager at the London borough.

Ms Grant joins Maryhill from OFGEM where she was head of mitigation, and worked previously at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

Humphrey returns to CBRE

CBRE has hired Chris Humphrey as a director in its retail division in Scotland.

The move marks Mr Humphrey’s return to the property firm after 10 years at Colliers International.

Mr Humphrey has more than 15 years’ experience in retail agency, providing advice to landlords, developers and retailers across Scotland including Currys, Carphone Warehouse and Sainsbury’s.

In his new role, he will be responsible for expanding the firm’s out of town retail offering. CBRE’s existing out of town instructions include Strathkelvin Retail Park in Bishopbriggs and Hermiston Gait Retail Park in Edinburgh.

Senior director Kevin Sims, who heads CBRE’s retail Scotland team, said: “This is an exciting appointment for the CBRE Retail Scotland team. Chris is well known as one of the leading out of town agents in the Scottish market and brings a wealth of experience with him that will allow us to grow an area of the business that is currently very active. It also means we can provide a complete advisory service covering all aspects of retail agency.”

Kerry McMenamin and James Flynn have joined CBRE’s asset management team in Edinburgh. The moves are among a series of appointments the company has made in Scotland.
