New faces at recruitment firm

Edinburgh-based recruitment firm Munro has appointed Nicola Dunn to the newly-created role of senior researcher.

Ms Dunn, who previously worked as a business and life coach and also worked with the former Edinburgh-based agency Quantum, will provide UK market analysis and support candidate sourcing within the firm’s key sectors which include property and real estate, energy and construction.

She will be joined at Munro by new graduate trainee Juliet Yarkova, a native of Bulgaria who recently completed a degree in Russian and EU Studies at the University of Edinburgh.

Ms Yarkova joins Munro through the Santander-sponsored intern scheme at Edinburgh University and will provide administrative, research and executive search support.

PR firm makes key appointments

Media consultancy Holyrood PR in Leith has made two new additions to its ten-strong workforce while also making a number of internal promotions.

Consumer public relations expert Ainsley Piggott has joined the agency as an account manager and will be working with clients as diverse as luxury housebuilder CALA Homes and Musselburgh Racecourse. She previously spent two years with UK-wide agency, Havas.

Meanwhile Kenny Murray has been appointed to lead Holyrood’s burgeoning digital services, including working with videographer Craig Sinclair across the entire client portfolio.

Mr Murray joins from global public relations agency Weber Shandwick where he spent two years on the digital side of the business.

Holyrood’s internal promotions include Chris Fairbairn’s being appointed account manager and Sarah Fairley’s appointment as account executive in which position she will work alongside Alicia Simpson who joined from Havas PR in June.

Another change will see account director Brian Lewis leave the firm at the end of the year having landed a job with Abu Dhabi based agency Seven Media.
