TELEVISION presenter Carol Smillie and tennis star Annabel Croft have launched their award-winning range of DiaryDoll pants in 122 UK Boots stores.

“Very exciting day for DiaryDoll,” the duo tweeted yesterday.

Designed for periods, post-maternity and pelvic floor problems, the pants contain a hidden waterproof panel but look and feel like normal underwear.

The idea emerged from a holiday chat in 2012 about being women ‘of a certain age’ and having teenage daughters of their own.

The product was created originally for teenagers and women with heavy periods, but has attracted a varied customer base, Smillie said. Most mums buy for their daughters, but also for themselves to deal with pelvic floor problems when exercising. “Just say the word 'trampoline' and any woman over 40 knows precisely what I mean!” Smillie said of the product. They are also bought by new mums as post-maternity pants.

Other stockists include Debenhams and John Lewis.
