KPMG has appointed Ken McCracken to be its Glasgow-based head of family business consulting. The accountancy giant said Mr McCracken has acquired decades of experience of the sector, with a particular focus on governance and transitions. Mr McCracken has worked as a corporate lawyer and joins KMPG from the Withers Consulting Group, which advises family businesses. He will have a UK-wide remit. “I am here to help the increasing number of enterprising families who want to know how to organise their family and business interests to the highest possible standard,” said Mr McCracken. He added: “As well as the issues that every business has to deal with, a family in business together faces a set of additional challenges because the reality is that the needs of the family and the business can never be completely separated.”
