HUNTER Boot has appointed a veteran of the international outdoor clothing industry to be its next chief executive. The Edinburgh-based firm, which is best known for its Wellington boots, said Vincent Wauters will take up the position on 1 March. Mr Wauters joins Hunter from Canada-based Arc’teryx, where he was president of the outdoor and lifestyle brand. He was previously senior vice president operations at Amer Sports Corporation. Mr Wauters said: “I am honoured to join such an iconic brand. The combination of heritage, performance and fashion is what makes Hunter so unique. What has been accomplished in the last few years is remarkable and I look forward to building on this, realising Hunter’s global potential.” He succeeds James Seuss, who left to head The Rug Company.
