James Watt, the charismatic co-founder of indie craft brewery BrewDog has joined Entrepreneurial Scotland’s influential Leaders’ Exchange network.

At an event organised by Entrepreneurial Scotland yesterday in Glasgow’s recently-opened Technology and Innovation Centre, Mr Watt spoke to an audience of 300 entrepreneurs about how BrewDog has dispensed with convention, disrupted the drinks industry and turned traditional business models upside down.

In joining the Leaders’ Exchange network – previously known as Entrepreneurial Exchange – Mr Watt becomes part of an organisation of more than 1,000 of Scotland’s business leaders who aim to increase entrepreneurship in the country.

Chris van der Kuyl, chairman of Entrepreneurial Scotland, said: “James is seen by many as one of Scotland’s most disruptive entrepreneurial leaders and his approach and drive is inspirational. As a member of Entrepreneurial Scotland he will be playing his part in helping our members to grow their businesses and transform the organisations they work in."
