International drive at Prodrill with Abu Dhabi appointment

PRODRILL Energy Resource Solutions has relocated business development director Mike Macdonald to Abu Dhabi, where he will head up the Aberdeen company’s international operations.

Mr Macdonald has been with Prodrill for 12 years having previously worked in various senior operational roles for global oil operators for over 20 years.

Prodrill said his industry awareness and vast knowledge of both the UKCS and international markets will allow him to build on Prodrill’s reputation as a leading resource specialist in the drilling and wells arena and enhance their client and consultant relationships, ensuring compliance in overseas markets.

Louise Wood, managing director, Prodrill commented: “Our new venture provides us with important access to the Abu Dhabi business network, strengthening our local and global position as a leading oilfield recruitment consultancy.”

She said that while many companies within the energy sector are currently experiencing difficulties, she believed it is vital to continue investing to support the company’s future growth plans.

CGC appoints new director

Renfrewshire construction firm CGC has elevated a leading member of its team to director.

Senior contracts manager David Gray took up his new role with the company on April 1. He currently manages CGC’s steel fabrication activities, which the company said was showing strong growth.

Mr Gray has been with the business, whose Scottish HQ is in Paisley, for four years and has a background in steel fabrication working both in Scotland and Canada.

Managing director Leo Reilly, commented: “This is an important appointment for the business. David brings huge expertise and professionalism to the role in an area of growing significance for CGC.”

Director Ronnie McDowell added: “We have invested considerably in this side of the business and it is already producing results with high demand for our steel products. David will lead the continuing expansion of our work in this area.”

Client service boost for Murgitroyd

LEGAL firm Murgitroyd has appointed Katie Efland as director of client services.

Ms. Efland was previously General Manager of the Murgitroyd IP Portal, and has been with the company for seven years. In her new position, she is tasked with creating a new client service and internal collaboration department, dedicated to ensuring consistency in the delivery of quality and client service across the firm`s 16 international offices.

This begins with the establishment of an internal Client Service Board which will review all current client interactions and communications to address and fix any areas that may not live up to delivering an excellent client experience.

The company`s chief marketing officer Jamie LeLiever said: "Creating a specific department focused solely on improving our client service demonstrates its importance to us and it also demonstrates an ongoing commitment to our clients. We`ll be reviewing how we work with clients on a continual basis, so every opportunity for improvement is identified and acted upon."
