New partners at Gillespie Macandrew

GILLESPIE Macandrew has made solicitors Amy McDowell and Fiona Cameron partners in the Edinburgh-based law firm.

Ms McDowell, who specialises in energy and strategic land, and Ms Cameron, a litigation specialist, joined as trainees and in the last 12 months have advanced through the firm’s academy process.

Gillespie Macandrew now has 20 partners and 102 fee earners following recent external hires and internal promotions.

Chairman Murray Shaw said: “We are delighted to see Fiona and Amy become partners having originally joined as trainees. Over their careers to date they have demonstrated first class legal skills and client care and in the last 12 months they have also taken part in our academy process, designed to assist our senior staff to develop key additional skills and experience in preparation for the responsibilities of being a partner in a modern law firm.”

The frim meanwhile has promoted Victoria Current to associate in its commercial property department. Jamie Reid, Grace Watson and Ross MacRae have newly qualified solicitors in the energy, litigation and corporate teams after completing their traineeships.
