CMS appoints three new partners

LAW firm CMS has appointed three partners at its offices in Scotland.

The firm, which entered the Scottish market with the acquisition of Dundas & Wilson in 2014, has promoted Amy Norton and Duncan Turner to partner level in its Edinburgh office.

Kirsten Partridge, pictured, is now a partner in Glasgow.

Ms Norton, who joined Dundas & Wilson as an assistant solicitor in 2007, and Ms Partridge, who arrived at the firm as a trainee the following year, are both real estate specialists.

Mr Turner, a partner in the technology, media and telecommunications practice, joined in 2015 after 10 years at Dickson Minto.

Caryn Penley, CMS managing director in Scotland, said: “These promotions underline the growth of CMS in Scotland and further demonstrate the opportunities for our Scottish-based colleagues to progress within the firm.

“Three years from the combination of Dundas & Wilson and CMS, our people continue to benefit from the strength and depth that comes with being part of a global firm focused on the needs of the local market place.”

Former footballer signs at Equator

EQUATOR, the Glasgow-based creative agency, has hired Richard Carroll, pictured, as its business development director in London.
Mr Carroll, who will be based in the firm’s Shoreditch office, will be responsible for growing the agency’s list of financial clients. Current clients include AXA Insurance, Lloyds Banking Group and Clydesdale Bank.
Mr Carroll joins following the appointment of executive Stewart McTaggart to the firm’s business development team.
A former footballer with Dundee FC, Mr Carroll trained as a lawyer before moving into business development. He joins Equator from MediaCom. Mr Carroll said: “It’s been quite a transition from playing football to becoming a business development director but one thing that both jobs have in common is the mix of skills involved.
“I’m excited to be playing a major role in the growth of Equator’s presence in London.”
Equator said Mr Carroll will be working alongside its co-founder, and group business development director, Garry Hamilton.
