THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland has appointed insolvency specialist Bruce Cartwright, a former corporate restructuring partner at PwC, as executive director for policy leadership.

ICAS noted Mr Cartwright brought with him 30 years’ experience from the big four accountancy firm, and that he had headed PwC’s Scottish corporate restructuring practice from 2001 to 2016.

The professional body said that, in the new position, Mr Cartwright would “formulate ICAS’s policy positions and lead its thought leadership activity”.

Anton Colella, chief executive of ICAS, said: “ICAS has a proud reputation for high-impact, evidence-based thought leadership and policy work. The appointment of someone of Bruce’s standing in business, and in the profession, signals strongly our desire to build that reputation.”

ICAS has 21,000 members around the globe.
