Carol Benzie, who is from the north-east of Scotland, has been with the airport for five years.
She qualified as a chartered accountant before spending 10 years in the oil and gas industry with roles in Oilphase and Accenture.
Then she spent seven years in the charitable sector, including as head of finance at Inspire.
She said: "I am excited to be taking up this role, given the economic importance of the airport to our region as we continue to expand and grow."
Ms Benzie highlighted terminal redevelopments, improving surface access to the airport and route development as among her main priorities in the coming months.
She added: "I will also continue the work to constantly keep our safety messages high on the agenda."
