PETER Vardy was born in Durham and educated at Loretto School, near Edinburgh, and the University of Strathclyde, where he studied marketing and HR.
He started in the family business run by his father, Sir Peter Vardy, aged 14, and worked his way up through the ranks at Reg Vardy to the position of dealership manager with Jaguar in Edinburgh.
Peter, who is 36, set up the Peter Vardy Group after the listed Reg Vardy was acquired by Pendragon in 2006, opening his first dealership in Perth. The company now has 12 outlets across Scotland.
A self-confessed workaholic, Peter relaxes by playing drums, going to the gym and by spending time at his local church and with wife Anna and their golden retriever, Enzo.
