GLASGOW born Jim Gilmour is the first Scot to be appointed as national president of the Federation of Master Builders.

Mr Gilmour was previously vice president at the trade association and is also on the board at ConstructionSkills.

He described his move to the president's role, where he will serve a two-year term, as an honour and looked forward to meeting members around the UK.

FMB chief executive Brian Berry said: "Jim is a passionate advocate for the construction industry."
