LAW firm Harper Macleod has hired two new partners and promoted three staff to the same level.

Experienced duo Euan Pirie and Euan Mitchell join the public sector, housing and infrastructure team from McClure Naismith.

At the same time, insurance associate Heather Calderwood, litigation specialist David Kerr and real estate lawyer Katrina Ovenden all step up to partner level at the firm. Harper Macleod also promoted four of its assistants to associate level.

Separately, Shoosmiths, which merged with Edinburgh-based Archibald Campbell & Harley, has hired family law specialist Marika Franceschi from Anderson Strathern.

She becomes a partner in the Shoosmiths private client team in the Scottish capital.
