DUNDAS & Wilson has confirmed its acting managing partners have been elected to the role on a permanent basis.

Caryn Penley, head of UK banking and financial services, and Scottish real estate leader Allan Wernham will serve four-year terms after a vote by the firm's partners.

The duo have been sharing responsibility for the role since Donald Shaw stood down in March.

Lawrence Ward, who leads the firm's intellectual property, IT and education practices, replaces David Hardie as chairman.

This year the firm has opened an Aberdeen office and brought in a banking team in London from Stephenson Harwood but also made 28 people redundant.
