Dr O'Carroll has previously held prominent posts with HBOS Treasury, Royal Bank of Scotland and Bank of England.
She was most recently a senior economist for the wholesale bank at Lloyds, which acquired Bank of Scotland in 2009.

O'Carroll seals Widows switch
LLOYDS Banking Group's Edinburgh-based fund management business Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has appointed Lucy O'Carroll as its chief economist.
