Budding entrepreneurs from two Scottish high schools will tonight contest the national final of the Deutsche Bank Young Entrepreneurs Programme, in London.

Ross High in Tranent, East Lothian, spent six months building Connected, which produces discount voucher books for local businesses, while Lourdes Secondary in Glasgow created Organeco, an organic lip balm. They will be up against teams from Liverpool, Birmingham and London.

Michael Mercieca, chief executive of co-organisers Young Enterprise, said: "It's fantastic to have such innovative and sustainable businesses - it shows that the future generation is committed to creating viable business models."
