HARPER Macleod has named five new partners among seven promotions within the law firm.

The promotions, across the firm's corporate, private clients, energy and natural resources, and dispute resolutions teams, take the firm's total number of partners to 62.

Four were made within Harper Macleod's growing private client division.

Julie Doncaster, who specialises in asset protection and tax planning matters, and Jacqueline Leslie, a specialist in wills, trusts and estates, both step up from associate to partner. Susie Henderson and Allyson Gilchrist make the move from assistant to associate.

Craig McKerracher, who joined as a trainee, becomes the eighth partner in the firm's corporate department, specialising in advising family-owned, owner-managed and employee-owned businesses.

Inverness-based crofting law, community projects and rural and commercial property specialist Calum MacLeod, Scotland's first tweeting Gaelic lawyer, becomes a partner in the energy and natural resources department.

Fiona Pask, an Edinburgh-based member of the dispute resolution team, has become a partner.

COLPITTS World Travel has brought in new recruits to its European headquarters in Edinburgh and its office in Aberdeen.

Fiona Buchan joins the team in Aberdeen as senior business travel consultant. Bringing more than 20 years' travel industry to the firm, she has previously worked for Aberdeen Airport and BMI.

Ida Honkala joins the Edinburgh team as a corporate travel consultant. She joins from Norwegian firm Reisegiganten AS, where she worked as a team leader and international travel consultant.

BARRATT Homes has promoted Craig McFarlane to the position of construction director in the west of Scotland.

With 20 years' experience in the industry, Mr McFarlane joined the firm more than five years ago as contracts manager, before becoming construction manager in 2014. In his new role, he will oversee construction across all sites in the west, reporting to managing director David Scott.

David Scott, managing director for Barratt Homes West Scotland, said: "With strong growth in the market and exceptional sales in the financial year to date, now is a great time for Craig to lead our construction team. His considerable experience and invaluable knowledge about Barratt Homes and the wider industry make him the perfect candidate for the job, and we're pleased to recognise and support his professional development by handing him the reigns."

Barratt Homes aims to build more than 500 new homes across the west of Scotland this year.

BUCCLEUCH Property has appointed Philip Eves and Lucy Duff to expand its investment and asset management capability.

Mr Eves joins the Edinburgh-based company as a director from Robertson Property, where had led asset management and development projects since 2012.

Before that he was responsible for acquisitions, disposals and asset management at Kenmore Property Group.

Ms Duff, who has joined Buccleuch as associate director, previously spent eight years at Jones Lang LaSalle for eight years. There she specialised in property and asset management for national and local retail, industrial and office clients.
