All change at Ledingham
LEDINGHAM Chalmers, the Aberdeen-based law firm, has announced nine promotions.
The changes include senior moves for four of its corporate team in Aberdeen and promotions within its commercial property and litigation departments.
Three solicitors in its private client unit have also been handed upward moves, with Craig Pike named as its newest partner. The 37 year-old joined the firm nine years ago as a trainee solicitor.
Jennifer Young, chairman of the firm, said: "I am delighted to announce the promotions of these nine dedicated and committed solicitors at Ledingham Chalmers LLP.
"The corporate department is made up of an incredible team which will now benefit from two new senior solicitors, an associate and senior associate. This recognises not only their individual hard work but highlights an accomplished team working across energy and wider business sectors.
"Craig Pike is a superb solicitor who has thrived at Ledingham Chalmers LLP."
Big digital move
PUBLIC relations agency The Big Partnership has hired Euan Blair as digital account director.
Mr Blair joins from his post as digital account director at Peach Digital, having previously worked for Dog Digital, Indez International and Scottish Enterprise.
Big says the hire boosts its digital capabilities, with Mr Blair having extensive experience in areas such as search engine optimisation, pay per click, social media, email marketing, display advertising and web analytics.
He arrives shortly after Big added fellow digital specialists Jessica McAndrew and Alice Ritchie to its team in Glasgow.
Allan Barr, head of digital at Big, said: "Euan is one of Scotland's foremost digital marketing experts. With his skills in high demand, it's testament to our digital credentials that we have attracted a candidate of his calibre."
Five promotions at Blackadders
BLACKADDERS, the Dundee-based solicitors, has promoted five members within its legal team.
Employment law partner Simon Allison, ranked as a leading individual in Chambers UK, has taken over as head of employment from Sandy Meiklejohn. Mr Allison joined the firm as a solicitor in 2004 and was made partner in 2011.
Stuart King, who joined the firm as an associate in February 2014, has been appointed as director of commercial property.
Blackadders has also handed promotions to Nicola McCafferty, Hazel Anderson and Karin Bousie, who have all made the move from senior solicitor to associate.
The firm's managing partner, Johnston Clark, said: "These promotions demonstrate both our commitment to excellent service for our clients and to nurturing and developing talent within Blackadders.
"All those promoted have shown their willingness to meet our clients' high expectations of them, and I warmly congratulate them on their achievement."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.Â
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.Â
That is invaluable.Â
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
