John Phelps's portfolio

Our share tips shrugged aside a bout of market jitters ahead of the key European Central Bank meeting to push to another peak valuation when we conducted our review of progress on Wednesday morning.

There were some disappointments, however, and we sold our notional holdings in Glasgow's Weir Group when the price plunged 100p to its published stop/loss level.

There seemed no obvious reason for the fall and it is likely we will make a fresh purchase when things settle down.
