Taxing time as ignorance and apathy coincide with HM Revenue errors

There is widespread ignorance and apathy amongst taxpayers about income tax, according to a survey in the wake of the shock admission by HM Revenue & Customs that they overcharged more than one million taxpayers a total £238m last year.

The survey, by HBSC of 2100 UK adults, reveals taxpayers are failing to check their income tax deductions.
