OIL and gas services company Intervention Rentals has opened a new office in Ghana.

The Montrose company, formed in 2006, specialises in supplying flow measurement equipment to the energy sector and already has an international base in Qatar.

It has previously worked on a joint venture with Ghanaian company RDFC but has now decided to set up a standalone office.

David Laing, managing director of Intervention Rentals, said the company had been looking at the West African market for some time and had been helped by trade missions organised by Scottish Development International.
